CLARK
FREEPORT, PHILIPPINES — October 12, 2026- A proposed development of 700 Climate-Smart
Greenhouse units at Greenhouse Paradise Country Farm in Iba, San Jose, Tarlac,
is advancing a vision of agricultural modernization that brings together food
security, digital innovation, youth empowerment, environmental sustainability,
and new livelihood opportunities for Filipino communities.
The initiative, led by Filipino Land
Development Corporation (FLDC) and Biorganism Corporation under the leadership
of Henry V. Bayubay, President and CEO of both corporations, seeks to
establish an integrated agricultural development model that combines modern
greenhouse infrastructure, digital farm-management technology, agricultural
education, and responsible resource utilization.
The project was discussed during a
strategic meeting held on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Its planned deployment
period is from December 2026 to December 2027, subject to project
readiness, procurement, site preparation, final technical specifications, and
other implementation requirements.
At the
center of the initiative is the Integrated BC Agri-System Climate-Smart
Greenhouse, a technology-driven framework developed by Biorganism
Corporation to connect agricultural production with digital monitoring,
farm-management tools, technical learning, and potential market-access
solutions.
The initiative also seeks to
introduce more young Filipinos to modern agriculture through the planned
integration of the Agritech Crash Course in Digital Farming by Migs Masters
Institute for Graphics Inc.
Beyond agricultural production, the
project supports the broader vision of advancing Circular Economy and
Zero-Waste Development in San Jose, Tarlac, through responsible waste
management, resource efficiency, agricultural by-product utilization, and
environmental education.
Support for the initiative includes President
Kojiro of Hamada Boiler; Gerard Sigua, President of Country First Realty
Development Corporation; Takahiro Kawashima, Consultant and Environmental
Scientist of Biorganism Corporation; and former Congressman Jonathan Dela Cruz.
Together, these supporters represent
a network of industry, development, environmental, and public-service
experience aligned with the project's broader vision of building a more
productive, technology-enabled, and environmentally responsible agricultural
sector.
A NEW DIRECTION FOR PHILIPPINE AGRICULTURE
Philippine agriculture faces the
continuing challenge of producing sufficient food while responding to climate
variability, rising production costs, resource constraints, and the need to
attract a new generation of farmers.
The proposed 700-unit greenhouse
development seeks to contribute to these challenges by introducing protected
cultivation and digital farm-management approaches that can help agricultural
operators monitor growing conditions, manage agricultural inputs, and make more
informed production decisions.
Rather than treating greenhouse
infrastructure as a stand-alone investment, the project envisions an integrated
agricultural ecosystem connecting production technology, practical education,
resource management, and market access.
The
broader objective is to demonstrate how appropriate agricultural technology can
support farm operations and create opportunities for farmers, agricultural
technicians, young entrepreneurs, and rural communities.
The development will also explore
the importance of coordinated crop planning and production scheduling to help
align harvests with market requirements and improve the organization of
agricultural supply.
Actual production levels,
profitability, employment, and food-security benefits will depend on the final
greenhouse configuration, crop selection, water and energy availability,
operating costs, technical capacity, and access to viable markets.
Nevertheless, the project represents
an opportunity to demonstrate a more integrated approach to agricultural
development—one that connects farming infrastructure with technology,
education, environmental responsibility, and enterprise development.
INTEGRATED BC AGRI-SYSTEM: BRINGING DIGITAL
TECHNOLOGY TO THE FARM
Biorganism
Corporation will contribute its BC AgriSystem Climate-Smart Agriculture and
Digital Farming framework to the initiative.
The
framework aims to connect greenhouse operations with digital monitoring,
farm-management tools, agricultural learning, and technology-assisted
decision-making.
Depending
on the final system specifications, the proposed greenhouse technology may
include:
These technologies can help
operators observe changing crop conditions, manage agricultural inputs, and
document production activities.
The
effectiveness of the system will depend on appropriate equipment selection,
installation, calibration, operator training, maintenance, and sound agronomic
practices.
Through
BC AgriSystem, Biorganism Corporation aims to demonstrate that digital
transformation can reach farms and rural communities, helping agricultural
operators combine practical farming experience with modern technology.
The long-term vision is to create a
connected agricultural environment in which greenhouse infrastructure, digital
monitoring, production management, learning resources, and potential market
linkages support one another.
The proposed technology is intended
to complement farmers' expertise—not replace the practical knowledge and
decision-making required for successful crop production.
STRENGTHENING FOOD SECURITY THROUGH CLIMATE-SMART
FARMING
Food
security is not only about producing more crops. It also involves improving the
reliability of agricultural production, developing the capacity of farmers,
managing resources responsibly, and connecting producers with viable markets.
The proposed greenhouse development
seeks to contribute to these objectives by providing a platform for
technology-assisted cultivation and more systematic farm management.
When
appropriately designed and operated, greenhouse systems can provide greater
control over selected growing conditions than conventional open-field
production. Digital monitoring and suitable irrigation and nutrient-management
practices may also help operators identify problems and respond to changes in
crop conditions.
These capabilities may contribute to
more organized production and improved resource management. However, greenhouse
technology alone cannot eliminate climate risks or guarantee higher yields.
The initiative therefore recognizes
the importance of crop suitability, technical training, adequate water and
energy supplies, preventive maintenance, sound farm management, and effective
marketing.
By bringing these elements together,
the project aims to explore how integrated agricultural systems can contribute
to local food availability, sustainable farm enterprises, and more resilient
agricultural practices.
The project also seeks to encourage
coordination between production planning and market requirements, helping
participating operators better understand the relationship between what farms
produce and what consumers and buyers need.
EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF FILIPINO DIGITAL
FARMERS
One of
the project's principal objectives is to help address the challenge of
attracting young people to agriculture.
Many young Filipinos associate
farming with physically demanding work, uncertain earnings, and limited
professional opportunities. The greenhouse initiative seeks to help broaden
this perception by introducing a model of farming that incorporates digital
systems, technical skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Through the planned integration of
the Agritech Crash Course in Digital Farming by Migs Masters Institute for Graphics
Inc., participants may be introduced to modern greenhouse operations,
agricultural sensors, irrigation and nutrient management, digital
documentation, and technology-assisted farming.
Subject to the finalized curriculum,
learning activities may also explore digital communication, agricultural
graphics, farm promotion, and digital marketing.
This approach can help young people
with interests in information technology, software, graphics, and digital media
discover opportunities to apply their skills in agriculture.
Modern farming can create potential
career pathways in greenhouse operations, farm monitoring, agricultural
technology support, production management, digital farm services, and
agricultural entrepreneurship.
The objective is not simply to train
people to operate equipment. It is to help develop a generation of digitally
capable farmers who understand agricultural production, use technology
responsibly, and contribute to the long-term development of the country's food
systems.
The
initiative also recognizes the importance of practical learning. Training may
be supported by demonstrations, digital learning resources, and exposure to
greenhouse operations, subject to the final program design and implementation
arrangements.
The message is clear: agriculture
is not merely a traditional occupation; it is an essential industry with
opportunities for innovation, technical specialization, digital transformation,
and enterprise development.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND ZERO-WASTE DEVELOPMENT IN SAN
JOSE, TARLAC
Beyond agricultural production, FLDC
and Biorganism Corporation support the advancement of Circular Economy and
Zero-Waste Development in San Jose, Tarlac.
The circular economy approach
promotes efficient resource utilization, waste prevention, and the recovery of
materials that can be safely reused or transformed into useful products.
The
project's broader sustainability vision seeks to connect greenhouse operations
with responsible waste management, environmental education, and potential green
livelihood opportunities.
Possible initiatives include:
Appropriate
agricultural residues may be converted into compost or other useful
agricultural inputs when the materials, processing methods, quality controls,
and environmental safeguards permit.
Recyclable packaging and other
suitable materials may also be recovered through appropriate collection and
materials-recovery arrangements.
These
activities would require technical assessments, contamination controls,
regulatory compliance, and proper operating systems.
The group recognizes that zero-waste
development requires more than a declaration of support. It calls for practical
implementation, effective waste segregation, viable recovery systems, community
participation, and measurable environmental results.
The proposed greenhouse initiative
can provide a setting in which agricultural production and resource stewardship
are considered together. Its environmental contribution will depend on the
adoption, implementation, and monitoring of practical measures.
The long-term ambition is to explore
how agricultural development can contribute to a resource-efficient local
economy while supporting cleaner communities, responsible production, and new
opportunities for sustainable enterprise.
SUPPORTING A CLEANER AND MORE SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY
The group's commitment to circular
economy principles extends beyond the greenhouse facilities. Achieving a
cleaner and more sustainable San Jose requires cooperation among local
government, farmers, residents, educational institutions, businesses,
waste-management operators, and environmental organizations.
The initiative supports the broader
direction of encouraging environmental awareness, responsible waste disposal,
resource recovery, and practical waste-reduction solutions suited to local
conditions.
The
planned educational component also creates an opportunity to introduce participants
to the relationship between food production, environmental stewardship, and
resource efficiency.
Through relevant learning
activities, young people may gain a better understanding of how responsible
waste management and agricultural practices can reinforce one another.
Potential activities could include
educational demonstrations on organic waste management, responsible handling of
agricultural materials, water conservation, and the recovery of appropriate
resources.
Any implementation of waste-processing
or resource-recovery facilities would require separate technical evaluation,
appropriate safeguards, and compliance with applicable requirements.
The
broader objective is to encourage a development culture in which economic
activity, agricultural production, and environmental protection advance
together.
GREENHOUSE PARADISE COUNTRY FARM: A PLATFORM FOR
AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION
Located in Iba, San Jose, Tarlac, Greenhouse
Paradise Country Farm is envisioned as a platform for integrating
agricultural production, digital technology, education, and sustainable
development.
The proposed 700-unit deployment
will provide an opportunity to demonstrate climate-smart cultivation and
digital farm-management practices within a coordinated agricultural setting.
Beyond
crop production, the development may support agricultural training, technology
demonstrations, and knowledge-sharing activities involving farmers, students,
trainees, and aspiring agricultural entrepreneurs.
The broader vision is to create an
environment where infrastructure, technology, education, resource efficiency,
and market participation can reinforce one another.
The
project recognizes that modern agriculture requires more than physical
facilities. Productive and sustainable farming also depends on trained
personnel, suitable technologies, effective maintenance, responsible resource
management, and commercially viable operations.
By connecting these elements,
Greenhouse Paradise Country Farm aims to contribute to a model of agricultural
development that prioritizes productivity while recognizing the importance of
environmental responsibility and human capability.
The farm can also serve as a setting
for exploring how agricultural technology and practical education can work
together to develop the skills needed for modern farming.
CREATING LIVELIHOOD AND ENTERPRISE OPPORTUNITIES
The proposed greenhouse development
could support opportunities across several interconnected areas, subject to
implementation, operational requirements, and market demand.
These
include:
The educational component may help
prepare participants for greenhouse operations and technology-enabled
agricultural enterprises.
Circular
economy initiatives may also provide opportunities to explore composting,
materials recovery, agricultural by-product utilization, and other
environmental services where technically and commercially viable.
Where implemented, digital marketing
and distribution systems could help connect producers with buyers and logistics
providers, potentially improving market access and coordination.
The scale of actual employment and
income opportunities will depend on the project's final operating model,
staffing requirements, production performance, market demand, and commercial
arrangements.
Even so,
the initiative offers a platform for exploring how agricultural investments can
create economic opportunities beyond crop production alone.
CLIMATE RESILIENCE AND RESPONSIBLE RESOURCE
MANAGEMENT
Climate resilience remains an
important consideration in the development of modern greenhouse systems.
Protected cultivation can help
manage certain environmental risks, but greenhouse performance depends on
appropriate ventilation, heat management, drainage, water availability, energy
requirements, crop selection, and operating practices.
Responsible irrigation and nutrient
management are equally important in ensuring that agricultural technologies
remain practical and sustainable.
The BC AgriSystem framework aims to
support informed farm management through appropriate monitoring tools, while
the project's broader environmental objectives encourage efficient resource use
and the reduction of avoidable waste.
Combining these practices with
circular economy principles may help strengthen resource efficiency and
environmental performance.
The initiative therefore seeks to
promote an approach to agricultural modernization that considers productivity,
operating costs, environmental safeguards, climate-related risks, and long-term
commercial viability.
Site-specific assessments and
appropriate operating procedures will be important in determining how each
greenhouse is configured and managed.
The project's aim is to support
practical adaptation and more informed decision-making—not to suggest that
greenhouse technology can eliminate agricultural risks.
LEADERSHIP AND PROJECT DIRECTION
The initiative is led by Henry V.
Bayubay, President and CEO of Filipino Land Development Corporation and
Biorganism Corporation, who is associated with the project's vision of
integrating agricultural technology, digital innovation, and sustainable
development.
Under the
proposed framework, the greenhouse initiative is intended to bring together
physical farming facilities, digital farm-management capabilities, agricultural
learning, and responsible resource use within a coordinated development
approach.
FLDC contributes to the broader
land-development and sustainable-development vision, while Biorganism
Corporation brings its focus on climate-smart agricultural technology through
BC AgriSystem. Migs Masters Institute for Graphics Inc. is intended to
