Independence Day Job Fairs Generate Nearly 4,500 Instant Hires Nationwide

MANILA – Thousands of Filipinos secured immediate employment during the nationwide Independence Day job fairs organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), with nearly 4,500 applicants hired on the spot (HOTS) across the country.

In a statement released Saturday, Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino announced that 4,476 job seekers received immediate job offers during the DOLE TRABAHO AGAD Job Fairs held simultaneously in celebration of the nation’s 128th Independence Day.

Data from the Bureau of Local Employment showed that this year’s hiring turnout surpassed previous records, reflecting a steady increase in employment facilitation efforts. The number of hired-on-the-spot applicants rose from 3,665 in 2022, 3,422 in 2023, 3,651 in 2024, and 3,722 in 2025.

Among those who secured jobs were production operators, service crew members, cashiers, sales associates, baggers, teachers, packagers, customer service representatives, clerks, and store personnel.

Tolentino described the nationwide job fair initiative as a major success, citing the strong collaboration between employers, government agencies, and local employment offices that enabled qualified applicants to transition quickly into the workforce.

Conducted across 61 venues nationwide, the TRABAHO AGAD Job Fairs connected thousands of job seekers directly with employers, streamlining the recruitment process and allowing many applicants to receive employment offers on the same day.

The department also emphasized the program’s commitment to inclusive employment by providing opportunities for various sectors of society, including senior high school graduates entering the workforce, beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), members of indigenous communities, repatriated overseas Filipino workers, and persons with disabilities.

According to DOLE, the initiative supports the administration’s goal of expanding employment opportunities, promoting job creation, and bringing essential government services closer to communities nationwide.

The regular conduct of job fairs remains one of the department’s key strategies in addressing unemployment and helping Filipinos gain access to sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Tolentino also commended the vital role played by DOLE regional offices and Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) in ensuring the success of the nationwide event.

He likewise expressed gratitude to partner government agencies, including the Social Security System (SSS) and PhilHealth, for contributing to the delivery of integrated public services during the job fair activities.

With thousands of applicants successfully matched with employers, the Independence Day job fairs underscored the government's continuing efforts to create more pathways to employment and economic opportunity for Filipinos across the country.
