Eastern Samar University Partners with Denmark Firm for Global Internship Program

TACLOBAN CITY — Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) has become the first institution in the Visayas to partner with Europe-based Bixter Academy in offering paid international internship opportunities.

The partnership, formalized through a memorandum of agreement signed on April 27, is expected to benefit students in agriculture and related fields, provincial officials announced Tuesday.

The agreement was signed by Bixter Academy Chief Executive Officer Nataliya Jorgensen and ESSU President Andres Pagatpatan, with the support of Eastern Samar Governor Ralph Vincent Evardone.

The initiative was first facilitated in 2025 by former governor Ben Evardone, while Glenda Dulfo of the Bureau of Immigration—also a native of Eastern Samar—helped coordinate efforts to expand global opportunities for local graduates.

Governor Evardone emphasized that providing international exposure remains a priority for the province, noting that such programs enable students to gain valuable professional experience while helping support their families.

“The program opens global pathways for students, allowing them to gain international experience, support their families, and bring pride to Eastern Samar,” he said.

He added that the collaboration is expected to enhance global competitiveness and broaden career prospects for ESSU students and alumni, while contributing to the province’s long-term goals in education and workforce development.

Bixter Academy, an international recruitment firm based in Denmark, specializes in linking qualified candidates with traineeship and employment opportunities across Europe.
