Filipino investors seen ready for feeder funds, says ATRAM executive

MANILA — Filipino investors are now considered ready to take part in more sophisticated investment products such as feeder funds, according to an executive of ATRAM Trust Corporation.

Speaking at a briefing in Makati City, ATRAM Head of Products Miguel Liboro said the local equities market has grown significantly, paving the way for broader adoption of advanced investment vehicles.

This development supported the launch of the ATRAM Nasdaq Equity Income Feeder Fund, which is designed to provide investors with regular monthly income while offering exposure to technology-driven firms listed in the Nasdaq-100 Index.

Liboro explained that the fund allows investors to benefit from global innovators while generating income even during periods of market volatility, offering a more stable return profile compared to traditional equity strategies.

He noted that investors are increasingly looking for both growth and income, rather than choosing between the two.

The feeder fund structure pools investor capital and allocates at least 90 percent into a target fund, enabling access to large-scale, foreign, or specialized investments that typically require substantial capital.

Liboro added that continued investor education will be key to further expanding participation in such financial instruments and deepening the country’s investment market.
