DAVAO CITY – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation in the Davao Region (PhilHealth-11) is inviting members to register for the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) during its Labor Day activity on May 1 at Abreeza Ayala Malls.
The event will also mark the launch of mall-based YAKAP Clinics, part of simultaneous nationwide activities dubbed “PhilHealth YAKAP Para sa Manggagawa, Yakap sa Pamilyang Pilipino.”
According to Kleah Guevarra, the initiative aims to encourage workers to enroll and access comprehensive healthcare services, reinforcing the government’s commitment to making primary care more accessible.
“By bringing healthcare services directly to high-traffic areas like shopping malls, we make it easier for Filipinos—especially workers—to access essential health services,” Guevarra said.
The YAKAP program, an enhanced primary care benefit package formerly known as the Konsulta Program, provides free preventive healthcare services to PhilHealth members and their dependents to improve overall health outcomes.
The package includes:
Guevarra emphasized that these benefits help reduce out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for Filipino families.
Latest data shows that over 1.12 million individuals have already enrolled in YAKAP across Region 11, with 185 accredited clinics currently serving the population.
Through the mall-based clinic setup, PhilHealth aims to expand reach, boost enrollment, and ensure more Filipinos—especially workers—receive timely and accessible healthcare services.
