PH Off-Road Motorcycle Racing Enters New Era with Launch of Insured National Racing Series

Imus – Philippine off-road motorcycle racing marked a major milestone on April 18 with the official launch of a national competition platform at the Philippine National Off-Road Motorcycle Track in Vermosa Estate.

The initiative, led by Ride for Solidarity, introduced the “Onslaught National Series,” a structured racing system set to define the 2026 season, athlete development programs, and competition framework for off-road motorsports in the country.

The event brought together riders, teams, and stakeholders from across the Philippines, signaling a unified direction for the sport across four major disciplines: motocross, enduro, rally raid, and hooligan flat track.

Medard Paler opened the program by highlighting Vermosa’s role as a developing hub for Philippine off-road motorsports and its support for athlete growth and industry expansion.

Among those present were top national riders, including motocross frontrunner Bornok Mangosong, enduro leader and entrepreneur John Mascarinas, and Puerto Princesa-based rider Karl Bayron, who also expressed interest in hosting a future race leg.

A key part of the launch was the presentation of race rules and implementation guidelines for the 2026 season by Stephan Carapiet, aligning the series with national and international motorsports standards.

A major highlight was the introduction of the Ride for Solidarity (RFS) membership system, presented by Rupert Ambil II. The system marks a first in Philippine motorcycle racing by providing insurance coverage for riders competing in sanctioned events, extending protection beyond the racetrack.

The program also opens participation to non-racing riders and supporters, broadening community engagement in the sport.

Sun Life Grepa Financial Inc. Vice President for Group Business Peter Miranda reaffirmed the company’s support for rider safety and long-term motorsports development through the initiative.

Another major development was the inclusion of electric motorcycles in future competitions. Demo sessions led by HSV, through proprietor Ali Khalid, showcased the potential of electric bikes as a competitive category in upcoming races.

The event also featured track design presentations, introduction of development partners, and controlled riding sessions as the facility continues to undergo improvements.

Organizers described the April 18 launch as more than just a sporting event, calling it a convergence point for riders from different regions and disciplines under a shared vision of a more structured and internationally competitive motorsports ecosystem.

With the introduction of the Onslaught National Series and the RFS membership system, organizers said Philippine off-road motorcycle racing is entering a new era focused on safety, professionalism, and global competitiveness.
