Palace Reaffirms Commitment to Better Lives as More Filipinos Report Improved Well-being

MANILA – Malacañang has vowed to sustain efforts to uplift the lives of Filipinos, welcoming new survey results showing more citizens feel their quality of life has improved compared to last year.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Wednesday that the Marcos administration views the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey as encouraging, as 35 percent of respondents considered themselves “gainers” — one point higher than the 34 percent logged in April 2025.

“It is definitely good news. The administration welcomes the result of the survey,” Castro said in a statement. “And Filipinos can rest assured that their government will continue to work hard to improve the condition and quality of life of every citizen, especially those who need it most.”

The survey also showed that 42 percent said their lives remained unchanged over the past 12 months, while 23 percent felt their situation had worsened. These figures translated into a nationwide Net Gainers Score of +12, classified as “very high” — up from +5 in April and -1 earlier that same month. This marks the highest rating since December 2024’s “very high” +13.

According to SWS, the improvement was driven by stronger scores in almost all regions: the Visayas surged to an “excellent” +22 from 0, Mindanao rose to a “very high” +16 from -3, and Metro Manila climbed to a “very high” +10 from -1. Only Balance Luzon saw a decline, dropping from “very high” +12 to “high” +6.

The survey was conducted from June 25 to 29, with 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above, evenly distributed across Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The poll has a ±3 percent national margin of error and ±6 percent for each area.
