BSP governnor Diokno is next Finance chief, Marcos Jr. says

MANILA, Philippines — Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Benjamin Diokno is his pick as the next Finance secretary, President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said Thursday.

Marcos Jr. made the announcement in a sit-down interview with select members of the media.

“It would be appropriate to say that I will be nominating BSP president Ben Diokno for the position of Secretary of Finance. He has already agreed,” Marcos Jr. said.

He said Felipe Medalla will replace Diokno as the BSP governor to continue his unexpired term.
