MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – The Hundred Islands National Park continued to be one of the country’s most visited tourist destinations, drawing 377,968 visitors in 2025 and generating PHP43.8 million in revenues, despite a slight decline in arrivals compared to the previous year.
City Tourism Officer Miguel Sison said Tuesday that visitor numbers dipped by about 2.1 percent, largely due to weather disturbances that affected travel in the latter half of the year. He noted that peak arrivals were recorded in April and May, when monthly tourist counts exceeded 65,000.
Of the total visitors last year, 366,228 were domestic tourists, while 11,740 were foreign travelers.
“Tuloy pa rin ang promotions and marketing, pati na rin ang maintenance ng existing sites (Promotions and marketing, as well as the maintenance of existing sites, are ongoing),” Assistant City Tourism Officer Rosalie Aruelo said.
The city government has continued to introduce new attractions to enhance the visitor experience, including a Bonsai Garden on Pilgrimage Island and expanded water-based activities across the park.
Officials are also optimistic about the upcoming opening of the PHP249.8-million Sky Garden project, a flagship development expected to further boost tourist arrivals and generate employment opportunities for local residents.
During the project’s groundbreaking ceremony in May 2024, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized the park’s family-friendly design and its vital role in strengthening the local tourism economy.
