ESWF Ignites Philippine ESports Revolution: MOBA World Cup 2026 Kick-Off Set at Ninoy Aquino Stadium!

MANILA — In a bold and historic push to solidify the Philippines as a global esports powerhouse, leaders of the ESWF (Esports World Federation) and top government sports officials concluded a high-impact meeting yesterday at the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) headquarters. The discussions centered on the upcoming ESWF ESPORTS MOBA World Cup 2026, with the official kick-off event set for March 1, 2025 at the iconic Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

The meeting brought together some of the most influential figures shaping the future of Philippine esports: Arniel Gutierrez, President and Founder of ESWF; Patrick Gregorio, Chairman of the PSC; Engr. Reynaldo C. Sanchez, ESWF Chairman of the Board, Co-Founder, and President of Asian Television Content Corporation; and Henry V. Bayubay, President and CEO of BB 88 Advertising and Digital Solutions Inc.

Thousands of Players, 897 Barangays, One Massive Esports Movement

The March 1 kick-off promises to be the biggest grassroots esports gathering in Manila’s history, with thousands of players from all 897 barangays set to participate. The Manila Sports Council has expressed full support, aiming to showcase the city as a flourishing hub of youth talent and digital competition.

PSC Chairman Gregorio Champions Esports Tourism

PSC Chairman Patrick Gregorio reaffirmed the agency’s full support for the international preparation efforts of the ESWF MOBA World Cup 2026, noting that esports is now at the forefront of sports tourism growth.

“This World Cup initiative represents a new era for Philippine sports. Esports is the next frontier for tourism, youth empowerment, and national branding,” Gregorio emphasized.

New Homes for Philippine Esports Proposed

In a visionary move, Chairman Gregorio proposed the establishment of permanent esports development venues in two prime locations:

  • Camp John Hay, Baguio City – a cool-climate training and events facility
  • New Clark City, Tarlac – a world-class integrated sports complex

Both sites are being eyed as future ESWF Esports Arenas that will nurture emerging athletes and host international competitions.

Unwavering Commitment to a Global Esports Breakthrough

ESWF’s leadership expressed confidence that the Philippines is ready to take its place on the world stage.

Gutierrez, Sanchez, and Bayubay reaffirmed their united mission to deliver a spectacular MOBA World Cup in 2026—one that will elevate Filipino gamers, attract foreign competitors, and open new economic opportunities in technology, media, and sports entertainment.
