Alternergy, ABC Energy Seal ?2.4-B Partnership to Boost Wind Power Projects in Tanay and Alabat

MANILA – Renewable energy firm Alternergy Holding Corporation has sealed a ₱2.4-billion co-investment agreement with ABC Energy Inc., a subsidiary of A Brown Company Inc., to accelerate the completion of its major wind power projects in Tanay, Rizal and Alabat, Quezon.

In a joint disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on Friday, Alternergy confirmed that it will retain 60 percent majority ownership in both the 128-megawatt (MW) Tanay Wind Corporation and the 64-MW Alabat Wind Power Corporation, while ABC Energy will hold the remaining 40 percent.

Both projects are now in the advanced stages of construction and are expected to be fully operational by next year, significantly contributing to the country’s renewable energy capacity and sustainability targets.

The ₱2.4-billion investment is part of Alternergy’s broader capital-raising strategy aimed at expanding its clean energy portfolio, which includes wind, solar, run-of-river hydropower, and battery storage projects.

“The investment by ABC Energy marks a pivotal move in expanding its renewable energy portfolio, following the divestment of its coal power interest in Palm Concepcion Power Corporation in July 2025,” the disclosure stated.

Alternergy president Gerry Magbanua lauded the partnership, saying it reflects strong investor confidence in the future of green energy.

“A Brown has a solid track record in energy and resource development. We also recognize the Brown family’s deep roots and 90-year legacy in the progressive municipality of Tanay,” Magbanua said.

Meanwhile, ABC Energy president Paul Juat highlighted that the collaboration underscores the company’s long-term commitment to sustainable growth.

“Our ₱2.4-billion investment represents the largest single investment across the A Brown Group to date and aligns with our strategy to accelerate green energy initiatives,” Juat said. “With A Brown’s active presence in Tanay through our real estate and development ventures, we are proud to contribute further to the area’s continuous development.”

The partnership between Alternergy and ABC Energy marks another milestone in advancing the Philippines’ renewable energy transformation, supporting national goals for cleaner, more resilient, and sustainable power generation.
