Kadiwa ng Pangulo rolls out 5-day market schedule across Bicol provinces

LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Agriculture in Bicol (DA-5) has announced a five-day schedule for the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita) stores across several provinces in the region, continuing its mission to bring affordable, farm-fresh goods directly to communities.

Following the opening in Talisay, Camarines Norte on Monday, Kadiwa stores will be set up at Camp Simeon Ola in Legazpi City and Guinobatan, Albay on Oct. 7; Canaman, Camarines Sur on Oct. 8; Malinao, Albay on Oct. 9 and 10; and in Tigaon, Camarines Sur, Esperanza, Masbate, and Ligao City, Albay on Oct. 10.

DA-5 spokesperson Lovella Guarin said the Kadiwa program provides the public access to affordable and fresh agricultural products such as fruits, vegetables, and rice — directly sourced from local farmers.

“The Kadiwa ng Pangulo stores continue to promote farm-to-table initiatives,” Guarin said in an interview. “By selling directly to buyers, farmers can earn higher income and gain access to markets without the interference of middlemen.”

The Kadiwa initiative, spearheaded by the national government, aims to strengthen food accessibility while supporting rural livelihoods and local agricultural productivity.
