MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines emerged as a powerhouse at the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards, securing 30 national wins across film, television, and digital content categories.
Half of the awards went to GMA Network, which dominated in both entertainment and documentary divisions. Among its victories were Pepito Manaloto – The Story Continues (Best Comedy Program), Stars on the Floor (Best Music/Dance Program), The Voice Kids (Best Adaptation of an Existing Format, Non-Scripted), and Jay Abello of Beauty Empire (Best Cinematography, Fiction). GMA also triumphed in the documentary categories with Lost Sabungeros (One-Off), I Juander: History for Sale (History), and Reporter’s Notebook: Asia’s Scam Cities (Series).
Dennis Trillo won Best Lead Actor for Green Bones, whose screenplay was recognized for writers Anj Atienza and National Artist Ricky Lee. Dingdong Dantes clinched Best Entertainment Host for Family Feud Philippines, while Anjo Baraquel and Julie Anne San Jose’s “Gemini” from Slay won Best Theme Song. Other notable GMA winners included Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, Biyahe ni Drew, Eleksyonaryo, and DigiDokyu.
ABS-CBN captured four major wins: Incognito (Best Drama Series), Saving Grace (Best Adaptation of an Existing Format, Scripted), How to Spot a Red Flag with Viu (Best Original Production by a Streamer, Fiction), and Maalaala Mo Kaya’s “The Silent House (Maguad Family Story)” (Best Single Drama/Telemovie/Anthology Episode).
Individual achievements also shone through: Jodi Sta. Maria (Untold) won Best Lead Actress, Piolo Pascual (The Kingdom) won Best Supporting Actor, and Dimples Romana (The Caretakers) won Best Supporting Actress. Pepe Diokno’s Isang Himala earned Best Feature Film and Best Director (Fiction).
Additional Philippine winners included Sing Galing (Best Non-Scripted Entertainment), Gretchen Ho (Morning Matters, Best Factual Presenter), Money Talks with Cathy Yang (Best News Program), Merry ang Vibes ng Pasko (Best General Entertainment Program), Ready, Set, Read! (Best Children’s Program), and JSM Travel and Tours (Best Promo/Trailer).
The national winners will represent the Philippines at the Asian Academy Creative Awards’ conference, red carpet, and Grand Awards Gala in Singapore on December 3 and 4.
