DAR Provides ?1.45M Worth of Farm Equipment to Agusan del Sur Farmers

Boosting climate-resilient farming through modern tools and strong support

ROSARIO, Agusan del Sur – In a bid to improve farm productivity and help agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) adapt to the challenges of climate change, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has turned over ₱1.455 million worth of farm machinery and equipment to the Bayugan 3 Irrigators Association, Inc. (BIA) under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support – Major Crop-Based Block Farming (CRFPS-MCBF) program.

The awarded support includes:

·         5 floating tillers

·         3 hand tractors

·         1 mobile rice mill

·         150 sacks of palay

These tools are tailored to help rice farmers manage muddy fields more efficiently, especially in flood-prone and wetland areas.

DAR officials led by PARPO Loida L. Jones, CARPO Joven R. Pizarro, and MARPO Roger D. Añasco, along with representatives from the Department of Agriculture and local barangay leaders, facilitated the turnover ceremony.

“This equipment is not just a donation, it's an investment in your future. Take good care of them so they may benefit your entire community for years to come,” said MARPO Añasco.

The CRFPS-MCBF initiative aims to consolidate ARBs into block farms focused on major crops, and equip them with machinery, training, and support to improve agricultural productivity and livelihood sustainability.

This latest intervention highlights DAR’s ongoing commitment to empowering ARBs and building climate-resilient, sustainable farming communities.
