DTI: No overpricing of school supplies in Cordillera

PNA

BAGUIO CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) said on Thursday that no overpricing of school supplies was monitored in any of the establishments inspected across the region.

DTI-CAR assistant regional director Samuel Gallardo said they have monitored 33 establishments in the past week, to ensure that no trader would take advantage of rising demand ahead of the June 16 class opening.

He said the DTI is monitoring items based on the “2025 Gabay sa Pamimili” released by their central office.

Among the items checked are notebooks, pad paper, pencil, ballpoint pen, crayon, eraser, sharpener, and ruler.

Gallardo also said the agency saw ample stocks of school supplies.

“We remind the consuming public to start buying early while they can and avoid the rush in buying. By starting early, we can plan our needs and compare quality and budget-friendly options,” he said in a message to the Philippine News Agency.
