Camcam captures 4 titles in Pagadian junior tennis

MANILA – Izabelle Camcam of Muntinlupa City bagged four titles in the PPS-PEPP Governor’s Cup National Tennis Championships at the DAO Sports Complex in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur last Sunday.

The top-ranked Camcam won the U14 singles title over No. 2 Zaia Gumbao, 7-5, 7-6(5) and beat the same opponent, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (4), in the U16 final.

In the doubles, she teamed up with Keuzaifah Ordiz to conquer Micah Abanto and Germaine Rizon, 8-0, in the U14 final and later partnered with Juliana Tenepre to win the U18 crown over Sanschena Francisco and Gumbao, 8-3.

Meanwhile, No. 1 Tyrone Caro trounced Dioford Cabatingan, 6-3, 6-2, to capture the boys' U12 singles title. However, he lost to top seed Prince Centino, 6-4, 3-6, 1-6, in the U14 final.

Other winners were Juliana Tenepre over Sanschena Francisco, 6-2, 6-4 (girls U18); Al Rashid Arasad over Paul Albano via walkover (boys U18); Kennedy Gumera over Lemmar Sugue, 6-2, 6-1 (boys U16); Frances Rigodon over Bless Labadisos, 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 (girls U12); and Francis Dadan over Shaun Natividad, 5-3, 2-4, 10-7 (unisex U10).

In other doubles final results, Vanizer Acabo and Prince Centino clobbered Andrei Buhat and Cabatingan, 8-2 (boys U14), while Jiden Donaire and Lance Fuentes demolished Adrian Abanto and Jayson Pañares, 8-0 (boys U18).
